By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A 40 year old construction worker of San Lazaro Village now faces a charge of harm in addition to damage to property following Sunday’s windshield attack.
A 27 year old housewife of Trinidad Village made a report at the Orange Walk Police Station on Monday. Her injuries were certified as harm by a doctor.
She told police she was in the passenger seat of a green Ford Ranger driven by her common law partner, holding their five year old son in her arms, as they entered San Lazaro Village on Sunday evening.
She saw a man standing on the right hand side of the road holding a white metal pipe roughly three feet long in both hands.
As they passed, he came close to the vehicle and struck the windshield.
“Everything happened so fast,” she said, adding that she closed her eyes and hugged her son. She heard a bang and felt pieces of glass hit her and the child across their bodies.
She told police it was the first time she had seen the man.
Guadalupe Garcia was charged with harm on Monday. He was cautioned and chose to remain silent.
