CHETNA Association of Canada awarded the Human Development Award to Prithi Paul on India’s 80th Independence Day celebration. The award was presented by Energy Minister Adrian Dix and Parliamentary Secretary Sunita Dhir.
Present for the award ceremony were Bill Basra, Harmesh Owan, Orem Mall, Kamlesh Chander, Barjinder Bhatti, Sucha Jassi, Surinder Sandhu, RL Gaddu, Shinda Aheer and others. Also present was the famous Punjabi singer Dilraj. The event was moderated by Jai Birdi and Surjit Bains.
Paul, currently an entrepreneur based in Louisiana, U.S., has been actively involved in various community organizations and has led or supported various initiatives. His contributions include:
– supporting the mission of Ambedkar International Center and donating US$25,000 towards the purchase of a 13-acre parcel in Maryland.
– supporting the Begumpura Cultural Society Indian activities, particularly, the annual Independence Day Parade.
– celebrating the 125th birth anniversary of Baba Sahib Dr. Ambedkar at the United Nations in New York.
Paul shared his gratitude for the recognition and highlighted the importance of community services and philanthropy.
