Rosé is such an amazing wine, and I reach for a glass when enjoying salmon, barbeque chicken, and turkey cutlets. However, the versatility of a rosé is undeniable and one of many reasons for its popularity.
Here are a few to take notice of when trying a new rosé wine.
Pasqua
Rosé by Pasqua is a fine blend created from Corvina and Trebbiano di Lugana, Syrah and Carmenère.
The name 11 minutes refers to the duration of the skin contact. The Corvina varietal, which dominates in terms of percentage, was chosen for the floral aromas as well as the significant acidity it gifts to the wine. Trebbiano brings elegance and a long finish; Syrah gives dark fruit and spice notes, and Carménère creates structure.
The bottle is impressive with an open window on the front label showing an art piece of a woman holding a bird. A portrait of Lesbia, the lover of the ancient Roman poet Catullus, whose famous poem "Odi et Amo" ("I hate and I love") encircles the bottle's design. It's lovely and I’ve never seen anything like it!

Frescobaldi
I have been drinking amazing wine from Frescobaldi for many years, and each bottle is filled with passion and great energy. Alìe, is a figure from Greek mythology, one of the sea nymphs, symbol of sensuality and beauty. An elegant and stylish rosé with powdery pink hue. A fine balance between Syrah and Vermentino, which reach their fullest potential from grapes grown near the sea.
Aromas of soft white flowers, wild strawberries with citrus blended into a delicate structure. A long and rich finish. Enchanting as an apéritif or with meals and good company. The nose has a strong effect on the senses as it gazes in the air, and delights. I drank the entire bottle in a couple of hours with grilled buttered salmon and roasted cauliflower. Nice consistent acidity, bold strawberry finish and clean fresh picked citrus. A fine Italian wine portfolio to check out for many other explorations in the world of Italian wine.
