By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police are investigating an allegation that an adult man choked a 10-year-old Belize City boy following an altercation between the child and another boy on Friday afternoon.
According to police, the 10-year-old reported that he and another boy were striking a cement verandah with separate pieces of stick when the other child struck him on the leg.
The boy said he retaliated by striking the other child below the eye.
Police say the other child’s father subsequently came outside and allegedly placed his hand around the 10-year-old’s neck and choked him.
The child visited the Precinct One Police Station with his mother and was issued a medico-legal form for his injuries.
Police have identified Abraham Baptist as a person they are seeking in connection with the investigation.
