Somalia to unify branding for federal institutions under a newly established administrative framework designed to streamline official state communications and protect national symbols. The Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism announced the appointment of a ten-member technical committee tasked with creating standardized design guidelines across all government departments. This initiative aims to eliminate visual fragmentation by establishing clear rules governing the implementation of official logos, color palettes, typography, and heraldic symbols across the federal government apparatus.

The specialized committee, chaired by Abdirisaq Ali Ibrahim with Abdishakur Ali Ahmed serving as deputy and Mohamed Dubo as coordinator, brings together legal experts, graphic designers, and administrative officials. According to ministerial directives, the team will formulate a comprehensive framework to ensure that every state agency presents a cohesive and professional visual identity. Additionally, Information Minister Abdulfataah Qaasim established a permanent National Branding Office within the ministry to oversee the long-term execution of these identity standards and support inter-agency compliance.

Government representatives emphasized that standardizing institutional branding is a critical step in reinforcing state authority and projecting administrative professionalism to the public and international partners. Previously, varying departments utilized distinct, uncoordinated visual assets, which often created confusion regarding official communications and public awareness campaigns. By enforcing uniform graphic standards, the federal administration seeks to bolster public trust, enhance institutional transparency, and safeguard the integrity of national insignia against unauthorized alterations or misuse.

The branding initiative coincides with broader legislative efforts by the federal cabinet to preserve and promote the nation’s cultural heritage and institutional framework. As the technical committee begins its review of existing state insignia, public institutions will gradually transition toward the forthcoming unified visual standard. Observers note that this branding reform represents a subtle yet vital milestone in modernizing government operations, strengthening institutional coordination, and consolidating public administration structures across Somalia.
