Beyoncé knows how to show up for her man and give us a fashion moment at the same time.
The superstar joined Jay-Z for the September 13 world premiere of his new HBO documentary series, “JAŸ-Z IN 8,” at the Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center in New York City. The premiere also brought out SZA, LDJ Khaled, Fat Joe, Gunna, Winnie Harlow and Questlove.
Beyoncé And Jay-Z Match Each Other’s Fly At The ‘JAŸ-Z IN 8’ Documentary Premiere
For the night, Bey wore a black Elie Saab Haute Couture gown with a corseted sweetheart neckline, sheer paneling and intricate black embellishments from top to bottom. The fitted gown hugged her curves before opening into a long train that swept behind her with drama and fanfare like a line of members from the BeyHive.
She paired the gown with sheer black opera gloves and Lorraine Schwartz diamonds. Her honey-blonde hair fell in long, voluminous curls, while black sunglasses added one more glamorous touch to the look.
Jay-Z matched her fly in a sophisticated black tuxedo with a crisp white shirt, black bow tie and black sunglasses.
After years of wearing his signature free-form locs, Hov has returned to a low-cut Caesar with deep waves. Longtime fans will remember the style from earlier eras of his career. The close-cut look brings back the polished Jay-Z we saw throughout the late ’90s and 2000s.
Jay-Z and Beyoncé can command a room individually, but when the Carters step out together, royalty is in the building. We love a Carter couture moment because it puts their influence across hip-hop, fashion and culture in one frame, along with the swag that has always made them them. They love to put it on, make people talk and give the people what they want.
