By Zoila Palma: Today, the Belize City Council proudly presented the 2026–2027 Belize City Youth Shadow Council, welcoming 12 exceptional young leaders selected to serve as the 5th Cohort of this flagship youth leadership initiative.
Each Youth Shadow Councillor will embark on a year of mentorship, civic engagement, leadership development, and first-hand experience in municipal governance.
“As Belize’s only functioning municipal youth council, this initiative continues to empower young people to lead, serve, and make a meaningful impact in their communities,” the council explained.
The Belize City Council congratulated the 2026–2027 Belize City Youth Shadow Council as they begin this impactful leadership journey.
