Dozens Benefit from ABRCS Community Life Line Health Outreach

The Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross Society (ABRCS) has once again demonstrated its commitment to improving community health through the successful staging of its flagship “Community Life Line” initiative, which served approximately 150 residents at the West Bus Station on July 18th, 2026.

The free, walk-in health outreach, held from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., brought essential preventive healthcare directly to the public under the theme of encouraging individuals to “know your numbers, protect your future.” Members of the community received blood pressure checks, blood glucose testing, blood cholesterol screening, and medical consultations, all at no cost.

The event exemplified the power of partnership and volunteerism. Scrub Life Cares played a key role by distributing menstrual hygiene kits and providing educational sessions on menstrual health and hygiene to many, helping to promote awareness, dignity, and access to essential hygiene products for women and girls.

The outreach was further strengthened by the enthusiastic participation of nursing students from The University of the West Indies (UWI), medical students from the American University of Antigua (AUA), and dedicated volunteers of the ABRCS, whose professionalism and compassion ensured the efficient delivery of services throughout the day.

The Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross Society extends sincere appreciation to the Medical Benefits Scheme (MBS) for generously providing the diagnostic testing equipment used during the outreach. This invaluable contribution enabled healthcare teams to deliver reliable, high-quality screenings to members of the public.

The Society also expresses its profound gratitude to the Mill Reef Foundation for its continued support of the ABRCS Community Life Line Programme. Through this enduring partnership, the Foundation has helped the Society expand access to preventive healthcare services and strengthen community resilience by bringing essential health interventions directly to the people.
