Barbados Crowned CWI Rising Stars Under-19 Champions with Commanding Victory over Jamaica

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – July 22, 2026 – Barbados Under-19s Men were crowned champions of the 2026 CWI Rising Stars Under-19 Championship after defeating Jamaica Under-19s Men by a convincing 116 runs in Wednesday’s final at Liberta Sports Club.

Barbados produced an outstanding all-round performance, posting an imposing 320 for 9 from their allotted 50 overs before restricting Jamaica to 204 in 43.5 overs to secure the championship title emphatically.

Earlier in the day, Trinidad and Tobago Under-19s Men claimed third place with a dominant seven-wicket victory over Leeward Islands Under-19s Men at Bethesda Sports Ground.

After dismissing the Leeward Islands for just 88 in 26.5 overs, Trinidad and Tobago made light work of the chase, reaching 89 for 3 in only 15.1 overs to complete the victory with 209 balls remaining.

Guyana Under-19s Men also ended their campaign on a winning note, defeating Windward Islands Under-19s Men by 53 runs in the Fifth Place Playoff at Pigotts Sports Ground.

Guyana posted 184 in 49.2 overs before producing a disciplined bowling display to bowl out the Windward Islands for 131 in 27.1 overs, sealing fifth place in the tournament.

The championship concluded after weeks of competitive cricket across Antigua and Barbuda, with the region’s brightest young cricketers showcasing their talent and gaining valuable experience as they continue their development within the West Indies pathway.
