As the West London carnival celebrated its 60th anniversary, photographer Ollie Tikare took to the streets to capture the best looks from the weekend

It’s been six decades since the social worker Rhaune Laslett founded Notting Hill Carnival, then a much smaller local fayre organised in hopes of bringing together disparate groups in the local community. Now, 60 years later, carnival has grown into a formidable cultural event, with over two million people from across the capital – and the country – descending on West London for the bank holiday weekend.
