Lionel Richie cancels August concert, postpones show until 2027
Fans have been given the option of either requesting refunds or retaining their tickets that will remain valid even in 2027 and rescheduled for the next year's shows.

Lionel Richie has shelved his 2026 music concerts and tour until sometime in 2027.
The Lionel Richie Concert which was initially scheduled for the 18th of August 2026 has been pushed back to 2027 with dates still unknown.
According to Richie, the postponement is due to some unforeseen circumstances.
Fans have been given the option of either requesting refunds or retaining their tickets that will remain valid even in 2027 and rescheduled for the next year’s shows.
And the process to secure their money back should be done through email messaging with the lead booker’s name.
The former Commodores frontman said he sincerely apologizes for the inconveniences caused.
He assured fans that dates for the new shows coming up in 2027 will be announced from the 31st of October 2026.
Lionel Richie, who recently released his autobiography ‘Truly,’ is famous for hits like ‘Hello,’ ‘Balarina Girl,’ ‘Love will find away,’ ‘Deep River Woman,’ and ‘All Night Long!’
While he seems to be more invested in slow love ballads, Richie has also produced some dancy numbers like ‘Don’t Stop,’ ‘Dancing on the Cealing,’ and the rocky ‘Night Train – Smooth Alligator!’
In January 2026, Lionel Richie was on tour under the ‘Sing a Song – All Night Long Tour, with Earth Wind and Fire!’
Lionel Richie, aged 76 is an American singer, songwriter, musician and record producer.
Richie, who is also a television personality, rose to fame in the 1970s as a songwriter and the co-lead singer of the Motown group Commodores.
With the band he managed to pen and record hit singles like “Easy”, “Sail On”, “Three Times a Lady”, and “Still.”
Come 1980 and Lionel Richie departed from the group, going solo.
Along the way he wrote and produced the US Billboard Hot 100 number one single “Lady” for the country star, Kenny Rogers.
Later in 1981, Lionel Richie wrote and produced the single “Endless Love”, which he recorded as a duet with Diana Ross.
He has produced 11 albums as a solo artist between 1982 and 2012 and previously nine LPs with The Commodores.
