Nonprofits and schools can request $25,000 to $100,000 for programs in education, environment, mobility and traffic safety. Applications close October 31 at 11:59 p.m. PT.

Honda and the Honda USA Foundation opened applications on October 1 for their 2027 programmatic funding awards, giving nonprofit organizations and schools the opportunity to request between $25,000 and $100,000 for high-impact community programs. Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on October 31, 2026, and Honda will not accept late submissions under any circumstances.

“At Honda, we believe every person deserves to reach their full potential,” said Marcos Frommer, department lead of Corporate Social Responsibility at American Honda Motor Co., Inc. and executive director of the Honda USA Foundation. “Through this funding opportunity, we are investing in programs that expand opportunity and create meaningful, measurable impact in communities where we live and work.” In 2026, Honda and the Foundation contributed more than $15 million to organizations aligned with their pillar award categories.

Four Funding Areas

For this cycle, Honda corporate funds the Education, Environment and Traffic Safety pillars, while the Honda USA Foundation funds the Mobility pillar. Education awards support programs that strengthen the future manufacturing talent pipeline by building career awareness, developing technical skills and preparing people for success in advanced manufacturing. Environment awards back community programs focused on carbon reduction, clean energy education and natural resource conservation.

Traffic Safety awards support community programs that build the knowledge, behaviors and resources needed to prevent injuries and create safer roads, in line with Honda’s goal of zero traffic collisions involving its motorcycles and automobiles by 2050. Mobility awards from the Honda USA Foundation fund programs that remove barriers so individuals with disabilities can experience greater independence, access and participation in everyday life, and those programs must target and serve individuals with disabilities.

Who Can Apply

Applicants must be based in the United States and hold 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, work through a tax-exempt nonprofit fiscal sponsor, or be a school or school district listed by the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics. Requests from individuals are not eligible, and organizations with a pending 501(c)(3) status cannot apply. Honda primarily funds organizations with annual operating budgets over $500,000, and the same program cannot be submitted more than once.

Programs must also serve at least one of the states where Honda has major U.S. corporate operations: Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina and Texas. Honda does not fund athletic teams, political campaigns, programs or events that have already been completed, or programs organized for religious purposes.
