The Ministry of Finance in Ghana has adopted Eskwai, a legal artificial intelligence platform developed by Kwame AI, marking the first team-wide deployment of legal AI within a government institution’s legal department in the country.
The adoption will see the Ministry’s Legal Directorate use Eskwai to support its legal research and advisory functions. The directorate conducts in-depth legal research to provide legal advice to the Ministry and other Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), supporting the effective and efficient management of Ghana’s economy.
Amerley Nuno-Amarteifio, Director of Legal at the Ministry of Finance, said Eskwai provides the directorate with a comprehensive database for its research needs, while its AI capabilities can deliver information in a shorter time, improving the efficiency of legal work.
The partnership forms part of Kwame AI’s broader efforts to promote the responsible adoption of legal AI across Africa and equip legal teams with tools to improve research and workflow efficiency.
