Georgia Mayor Impeached Over Misconduct And Sexting Claims
Jayden Williams, Georgia's youngest mayor ever, was voted out by the Stockbridge City Council based on misconduct claims and sexting a teen.

For everything we’ve been through as a culture, it’s only right to cheer for Black excellence when we see it shaping history. That was originally how many people viewed Jayden Williams, the 23-year-old mayor of Stockbridge, Georgia who made history as the state’s youngest candidate ever in charge.
Unfortunately, he now might hold the state’s record for quickest impeachment after being voted out of office this week following an investigation on claims of mishandling city funds and a possible ethics violation due to a relationship with an 18-year-old high school student.

According to USA Today, the Stockbridge City Council made an unanimous vote of 3-0 to oust Williams after only holding the position for 10 months. An official statement from the city of Stockbridge released on Monday (September 14) confirmed his removal from office following what they describe as “formal action concerning the Office of Mayor following proceedings conducted pursuant to applicable City processes.” The proceedings in question led to discovery that Williams allegedly lied about gift card purchases, hundreds of dollars in food and beverages, thousands on a fuel card plus various other spending irregularities.
Stockbridge’s interim Mayor Elton Alexander gave a detailed account of the investigation in a recent Facebook post, where he states, “The independent investigation verified former Mayor Williams was not truthful when he originally claimed he bought gift cards for staff at Pandora on the Square.” Alexander went on to add, “He then changed the account of what happened to he distributed the Pandora gift cards to random community members. He turned in a missing receipt form for Pandora on the Square stating he lost the receipt. The original receipt obtained by the Independent Investigation showed no gift cards were purchased. The investigator obtained the original receipt showing 2 beverages and 3 Father’s Day meals were purchased with the Mayor’s City issued purchase card totaling $322.92.”
Alexander also claims that Williams made an “inference” for city employment to a high school student that led to explicit text messages and nude photos labeled as “concerning.” Back in August, Williams made his own Facebook post to defend the relationship and other claims against him, writing, “The individual was 18 years old at the time of our communication, meaning we were both adults. I met this individual on November 30, 2025, and our online communication occurred before I was sworn into office in January 2026.”
As of now, the disgraced ex-mayor’s legal team is preparing to fight his removal from office given the 30 days he’s allowed to appeal. It’s a sad situation either way you look at it when considering so much potential loss.
