Tanzania’s Vice President Emmanuel John Nchimbi has resigned less than a year into the job.
President Samia Suluhu Hassan has accepted his resignation, with no reason given.
Nchimbi will leave office on September 4th, after serving since last November.
His resignation follows criticism over comments backing a new constitution.
Hassan won last year’s presidential election with nearly 98 per cent of the vote, amid deadly unrest.
