The family of Dellwood Mayor Reggie L. Jones has announced the final services for the longtime public servant, who died on Friday, Aug. 21, 2026, at the age of 53. Jones was a devoted husband, father, brother, friend, deacon, mentor and a steady presence in the community he served for decades.
“We will miss his voice. We will miss his stories. We will miss his humor,” the Jones family said in their statement regarding his passing. “To each of you who gave our Reggie the opportunity to serve, lead, mentor, encourage and make a difference — we, his family, are eternally grateful.”
Jones spent more than 30 years with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis, beginning his career at the Herbert Hoover location in 1995 and rising to director. He later entered public service, serving as alderman, collector and ultimately mayor of Dellwood. His leadership guided the city through pivotal moments, including the aftermath of the Ferguson uprising, and he remained committed to strengthening North St. Louis County through partnership, youth development and community investment.
His family asks the community to continue keeping them — and all those whose lives he touched — in prayer during this difficult time. They say his service, love and commitment to others will not be forgotten.
Homegoing arrangements for Mayor Reggie L. Jones are as follows: Wake — Wed., Sept. 2, 12–8 p.m., William C. Harris Funeral Home. Funeral — Thurs., Sept. 3, 11 a.m. (visitation 10–11 a.m.), New Sunny Mount Baptist Church. Repast at Family Haven Event Center in Dellwood.
