Taiwan National tries to smuggle narcotic drugs from Tanzania to Kenya through Sirari border
According to reports that were released from the border later, inside the bag there were concealed packages of 26 carefully wrapped capsules containing a brown powdery substance that was weighing approximately 18.26 grams.

A Taiwan national was recently arrested at the Isebania and Sirari One Stop Border Post, trying to smuggle Illegal drugs between Kenya and Tanzania.
His was described to be an attempt by a foreign national to slip narcotics into Kenya, through Tanzania.
But the racket came to a halt at the Isebania-Sirari One Stop Border Post (OSBP) between Tarime District of Tanzania and Migori County of Kenya where the sniffer dogs K9 officers picked out the Taiwanese luggage and alerted the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) sleuths.
Wang Hsiang-hui, a 29-year-old Taiwanese national, was reportedly traveling from Tanzania, crossing into Kenya through the Sirari-Isebania entry and exit post.
It seems like the man from Taiwan was blissfully unaware that Kenya’s border security apparatus leaves zero room for drug cartels.
His journey hit a dead end during a routine security check when a vigilant detection dog caught a whiff of trouble, freezing beside a bag and signaling a positive hit on a suspicious package concealed inside.
Responding swiftly, the sleuths from the Anti-Narcotics Unit swooped in and conducted a meticulous search of the bag.

Preliminary field tests positively identified the substance as heroin.
The Taiwanese suspect was arrested on the spot and is currently cooling his heels in police custody, undergoing processing pending arraignment.
The seized narcotics have so far been secured as exhibits.
It is still not very clear where the drug consignment originated from. Did the suspect fly with narcotics to Tanzania and then tried to smuggle the lot into Kenya?
Or did he pick the package in Tanzania?
Plus, was Kenya the ultimate destination or simply a passageway?
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Kenya, boasted that it remains steadfast in its fight against drug trafficking and other transnational crimes.
They said they were working closely with partner agencies to safeguard Kenya’s borders and protect communities from the devastating effects of narcotic drugs.
