In celebration of National Book Month this October, SHEEN Magazine shines a spotlight on Daria P. Reid, also known by her pen name, Airad Redd.
Through her latest book, Still…Becoming, she shares a message of hope, resilience, and personal growth.
What inspired you to write Still…Becoming?
“I wrote Still…Becoming because I wanted someone else to know that they can change, evolve, and begin again—even after experiences that make them question who they are or what is still possible for their life. I’ve lived through loss, heartbreak, instability, and seasons of rebuilding. Sharing those experiences was my way of offering encouragement through honesty.
I didn’t want to wait until I had everything figured out to tell my story. Most people either write from the wound or from the victory. Still…Becoming is written from the middle. It makes room for the person who is still healing, still learning, and still finding their way.
My hope is that readers see themselves in these pages and feel less alone. We can be proud of how far we’ve come while still giving ourselves grace for the work ahead. I’m still becoming, too.”
While Daria is an author, minister, entrepreneur, and media personality, her purpose extends far beyond the pages of her books.
So we asked “What’s Next for Daria”?
“I’m continuing to create opportunities to encourage people through writing, radio, ministry, and speaking. Through Gracefully Aligned with Daria, I’m having meaningful conversations about life, faith, healing, relationships, and purpose while encouraging listeners to give themselves grace through every season.
On the writing side, I’m working on a companion project to Still…Becoming that invites readers to pause and reflect on their own journey.
I’m also developing Believe In… Hope, the first in my Comfort Books series, created to offer gentle encouragement to young women navigating difficult emotional seasons.
Through The Obedient Pen, I’m helping aspiring authors find their voice and tell their own stories. Whatever form the work takes, my purpose remains the same: to remind people that their lives have value, their stories matter, and there is still room to become. ‘Grace for where you are. Courage for where you’re going’ is the message I’m carrying forward.”
Still…Becoming is available on Amazon in paperback and eBook formats.
