Seyi Vibez’s SWAGUU: Burna Boy executive-produces, Quavo is the only guest

Most Afrobeats albums at this level come loaded with features. SWAGUU goes the other way. The new Seyi Vibez project landed on 19 September with 14 tracks. Thirteen of them are Seyi on his own. The one collaboration comes at the end, where Migos rapper Quavo joins him on the title track.

The bigger name behind the record is Burna Boy, who executive-produced the project. Seyi calls Burna a mentor and has shared his advice to never show weakness and keep moving. SWAGUU puts that relationship in the credits for the first time.

“I just wanted to have fun on this project,” Seyi says of SWAGUU. The album looks back at his beginnings. “I took time to reflect on where I came from, the struggles and the genesis of my journey,” he adds. “I made SWAGUU to tell that story while enjoying the process, holding down my day ones and giving my international fans something they can connect with too.”

Where Seyi Vibez stands

At home, few artists get more streams. TurnTable Charts named him Nigeria’s most-streamed artist in 2024 and again in 2025. His team puts his career total above five billion streams. Children of Africa alone accounts for more than 800 million. The Headies named him Best Street-Hop Artiste. In 2024, the BET Awards nominated him for Best New International Act. Seyi also leads Afro-Adura, a spiritual, street-rooted sound. Spotify made it an official genre last year.

Outside Nigeria, collaborations have built much of his profile. Think Ayra Starr’s “Bad Vibes” and Bnxn and Kizz Daniel’s “Gwagwalada”. There are also records with Asake, Black Sherif, Zlatan and Odumodublvck. UK listeners will know his work with Tion Wayne and NSG. His previous album, FUJI MOTO, paired the single “AMA” with Olamide, French Montana, Trippie Redd and NLE Choppa. SWAGUU keeps the American link but narrows it to one guest.

Start with DIAMONDS

The focus track is “DIAMONDS”, which comes with a video. It’s a romantic song, softer than the street-pop that made his name. A smooth melody carries his usual clipped delivery. If you only know Seyi from his features, start here.

“Volume” opens the album at full energy, while “God” offers a reflective moment. The earlier singles “Back 2 U” and “GTA” both make the cut. Quavo’s title track closes the record.
