September heat intensifies with inland temperatures nearing 100

By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Warm and mostly dry conditions prevail over Belize today, according to the National Meteorological Service.

Expect mostly sunny and warm weather, turning hot inland this afternoon. Showers or thunderstorms will be isolated and will develop mainly inland during the afternoon.

Tonight will be partly cloudy with a chance for a few showers or thunderstorms over the south and isolated showers elsewhere.

Inland temperatures will climb to 98 degrees Fahrenheit before dropping to 74 overnight. The coast reaches 90 with a low of 84, while the hills stay at 84 and fall to 68.

At sea, winds will blow from the east to southeast at 5 to 15 knots with slight seas and waves of 1 to 3 feet.

Friday and Friday night will bring similar conditions.

Tropical cyclone formation is not expected over the region during the next 48 hours.

Sunrise was at 5:39am and sunset comes at 6:04pm.

The forecast was issued at 6am by forecaster Derrick Rudon.
