Thanks to a $50,000 grant from Commissioner Sheila Tyson and the Jefferson County Commission District 2 Office, New Pilgrim Baptist Church is set to launch a new food distribution program for residents in need.
Manna on the M.O.V.E. will distribute 150 free food boxes containing fresh produce, fresh meats, and nonperishable items to Jefferson County seniors and families facing food insecurity. The program is an extension of New Pilgrim’s Bread of Life Ministry, which distributes food boxes twice a month and provides bag lunches to the unhoused each weekday.
To receive food from Manna on the M.O.V.E., residents must register at the New Pilgrim Baptist Church gymnasium on Friday, June 26. Food distribution will be on Saturday, June 27.
New Pilgrim Baptist Church is located at 708 Goldwire Place SW, Birmingham, Alabama 35211.
