Wrote this as a prose tale. Might as well leave it like this

Luck’s In

The odds were 4-1 against.
I stood my ground.
Waiting for a casino chance
To cadge a stash of ill begotten
Chips like plastic shining
On weighted green beige tables
The wheel turned round
The white silver ball swirling
Clattering anti-clockwise
Against the dealers deft spin
Circling shrill sounds
Cease on landing
4-1 on the pound is rising
Heart beating, giddy, excited
Pulse faster than it needs be
Sweat pouring profusely
Must change this shirt sometime
Moments later the call goes round
Place your bets
I place them
An inner voice never wrong
19 Stand back shock still
On a rotating planet
Waiting for the orbiting to stop

The voice, the mighty voice
Scores once more
Before falling silent
Should I stand or should I spurn
A turn,
Turn spurned I turn
Away from loser time
Grab blue and red chips to make a dash
To change for cash
But clumsy
One falls and lands
On another winning neighbour bet
Tonight I am blessed
I win a cashiers smile
Last night same place
Her smile rueful
Sometimes most times
You lose

The weekly theme is laughter. The first day’s theme is keepsake followed by fields, rain, kindness or valleys and slate. Another haiku sequence started with a thrown away opener in need of rescue.

Pothead

Marijuana pot
A vast repository
Containing laughter

From the fields of dope
A cannabis farmer coughs
Giggles cross oceans

Tears trickle down cheeks
Bad taste jokes are shared widely
Our moisture makes rain

That hugs the valleys
Loved and nurtured by farmers
Full of green-i-o

The date now slated
We expect another gag
From sweet Mary Jane
