Hip-hop artist Holy Ten, born Mukudzei Chitsama, appeared before a Harare magistrate on Monday, accused of raping a 14-year-old girl.
He was granted US$500 bail by Magistrate Jesse Kufa following a brief initial court appearance.
The state did not oppose bail, citing the need for further investigations.
“We are waiting for a forensic report and documents confirming the complainant’s age,” prosecutor Lawrence Gangarahwe said.
The musician was represented by lawyer Admire Rubaya.
The court imposed several bail conditions, including reporting to the police once every Friday and surrendering his passport. He is also prohibited from interfering with witnesses and must continue residing at a given address.
The matter has been remanded to August 7.
