Kawempe Muslim Ladies will face Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) in the semifinals of the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers in Kigali, Rwanda.
The Valley Warriors sealed their slot into the semifinals on Wednesday after obliterating minnows UJECO from Djibouti 8-0. Jovia Nakagolo (hat trick), Latifa Nakasi (brace) and Agnes Nabukenya, Samalie Nakacwa and Cecilia Apiding scored the goals for Kawempe Muslim to finish top of Group B.
The result and position meant they face CBE from Ethiopia, a team they defeated 1-0 in the group stages and was ranked the best second-placed team across the three groups while Group A leaders Yei Joint Stars will face Group C leaders Kenya Police Bullets.
The semifinals are slated for Saturday at the Kigali Pele Stadium while the final and third place will take place on Monday next week.
