On the latest “Belle Collective”, Latrice and Glen bring the group to Atlanta to celebrate Mike and Selena’s wedding. Meanwhile, Kerri’s ongoing conflict with Marlene reaches another boiling point. Marie also addresses rumors about her business, and Glen spends quality time with his son before the wedding festivities begin.
Here’s the recap for “Mama-In-Law Said Knock You Out.”
Kerri and Marlene clash again over the family property.
Kerri was venting to Matt about the stress surrounding the restaurant when Marlene arrived. However, not wanting to continue discussing work, Kerri shifted the conversation to Matt’s late father’s family land. She pulled out a diagram of the property. It was time, she said, to divide it among the siblings rather than keep it under Marlene’s control.
In a confessional, Kerri said the land belonged to Matt’s father’s family and that she felt it should have been “divvied up” among the siblings. Marlene disagreed. Moreover, she accused Kerri of overstepping, saying the matter was between her and Matt. She added, “I’m a very firm believer of staying your lane.”
The disagreement quickly became personal. Kerri accused Marlene of bringing unrest into her home and told her to “go find you a rich man” so she could “go on into the sunset.” Marlene then asked Matt how long he would allow Kerri to “talk to me any kind of way.”
Matt tried to calm both women down and urged them to respect each other, but Kerri insisted Marlene had gotten in her face first. The tense exchange ended without a resolution as Matt admitted they would have to figure things out another time.
Glen opens up to Josh during a father-son day.
Glen took his son Josh to the barber shop before the group’s trip to Atlanta for Mike and Selena’s wedding. He said spending one-on-one time with Josh means everything to him because his work often keeps him away from home. Glen also shared that he and Latrice planned the wedding getaway together.
While they talked, Glen asked Josh about school, his friends, and whether he had a girlfriend. Josh laughed off the question, refusing to answer, prompting Glen to joke, “I’m gonna take that as a maybe.”
The conversation then turned more serious as Glen reflected on his own childhood. He explained that he had to grow up quickly after becoming the man of the house. He told Josh he wanted something different for him. “Enjoy your childhood because you got all the time in the world to be grown,” Glen said.
Glen also addressed the tension between himself and Latrice. He acknowledged they haven’t been seeing eye to eye but assured Josh that their disagreements don’t change how much they love him. Additionally, he praised Latrice for everything she does for their family and reminded Josh that both of his parents are working hard to give him opportunities they didn’t have growing up.
Marie celebrates another milestone and shuts down rumors.
Marie welcomed family and friends to celebrate the grand opening of her mental health business’s ninth location. She proudly told the crowd that the company has been serving the community for more than 20 years. Before officially opening the new facility, she introduced her business partner.
During the event, Marie addressed rumors that her business had closed after some people noticed a leasing sign outside her former Flowood location. She made it clear that the office had simply relocated and said, “My business is open and thriving. Today, we’ll answer all of the questions and the speculations that they have.”
The women congratulated Marie on another accomplishment and praised her work ethic. Tambra said she loves seeing women succeed, especially someone she knows personally. Meanwhile, another guest joked, “One thing about Marie, baby, she gonna cut a ribbon.”
As they prepared for the upcoming trip to Atlanta for Mike and Selena’s wedding, Tambra shared that Demond would stay home to care for London Simone and help her parents, as her father continues his recovery. She admitted it would be difficult to travel without him. Still, she said knowing her family would be together gave her peace of mind.
Lateshia and Glen take the next step toward protecting their marriage.
Lateshia and Glen met with attorney Lajuanda Williams-Griffin to discuss creating a postnuptial agreement. Lateshia explained that her businesses are growing and said she wants to protect the income she earns. However, she will continue to contribute equally to their household. “I’m still going to contribute,” she said. “I’m not trying to take anything away from the house.”
Glen surprised Lateshia by telling the attorney he had no interest in her money. He said he married her because of who she is and was willing to sign whatever agreement was necessary. Then, Glen became emotional as he asked for one thing in return: “I don’t need anything from you other than your heart… the heart before I broke it.”
Lateshia admitted Glen’s words meant a lot to her. She said she would love for them to get back to the love they once shared. Furthermore, she acknowledged the effort he has been making to repair their marriage. She added that his commitment is one of the reasons she continues fighting for their relationship.
The attorney advised the couple to define the terms of the agreement, consult separate attorneys, and then finalize a document that protects both of their interests. As the meeting ended, Glen said he hoped the postnuptial process would allow them to put the issue behind them. Meanwhile, Lateshia said she felt more relaxed and optimistic heading into the trip to Atlanta.
Kerri vents about Marlene as Marie addresses questions about her business.
After arriving in Atlanta, Kerri told the women she was happy that Matt had driven them to the wedding weekend because she needed a break from the stress at home. She admitted the ongoing tension with Marlene has taken a toll on her and said, “I’m on the edge.”
Kerri explained that the latest disagreement centered on Matt’s late father’s family property. She said Marlene has continued to bring conflict into their lives and believes it’s time for everyone to handle their own issues. Therefore, the women encouraged Kerri to put the drama aside for the weekend and focus on enjoying herself.
The conversation then shifted to Marie’s recent grand opening. Marie thanked Tambra for attending before questioning why some of the women had been asking so many questions about her previous location. She said people had started spreading false rumors that her business had shut down. However, it had actually relocated.
Marie made it clear that her company is still operating successfully despite the gossip. After Kerri asked how the business was structured, Marie grew frustrated and told the group she was tired of people digging into her affairs. She ended the conversation by declaring, “Hamilton Davis is still open for business. We’re not going anywhere.”
Latrice plans a little payback when assigning the rooms.
After arriving at the Atlanta house, Latrice and Glen looked over the bedrooms before the rest of the group arrived. As they counted the rooms, they joked about which couples would get the best accommodations. They also joked about where everyone would be staying for the wedding weekend.
Latrice quickly decided that Kerri and Matt would receive the smallest room. She laughed, saying it was her chance to get even after Kerri had previously assigned her a bunk bed on another group trip. In a confessional, Latrice said, "I'ma match energy.”
As they continued touring the house, the couple considered giving Kerri and Matt a room with a pullout couch instead. Glen laughed along with the prank. Latrice admitted she was enjoying the opportunity to tease her friend.
Although she found the idea funny, Latrice eventually acknowledged that getting even might not be the best way to kick off the weekend. However, she said she believed Kerri would be a good sport and hoped everyone would have a few laughs as they celebrated Mike and Selena’s wedding.
Lateshia and Cliff get a preview of Kerri and Matt’s room.
Before the rest of the group settled in, Lateshia and Cliff checked in on Latrice and Glen as they finished assigning the bedrooms. Latrice proudly showed them the room she had picked out for Kerri and Matt. She revealed it was much smaller than the others and featured a pullout couch instead of a traditional bed.
Cliff was immediately taken aback by the assignment and wondered whether Kerri would take the joke well. Looking at the cramped space, he laughed that Kerri and Matt would even have to leave their luggage on the deck. There wasn’t enough room inside.
Lateshia also expressed concern that the prank could create unnecessary drama before the wedding festivities. In a confessional, she admitted, “Glen and Latrice are definitely playing with fire here,” adding that Kerri was likely to “feel some type of way.”
Despite the warnings, Latrice stood by her decision and reminded everyone that she picked out the house. Glen jokingly distanced himself from the plan, saying the room assignments were all his wife’s idea. He planned to “sit back and watch the show.”
