A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign on public communication council Olootu Bolaji Adeniji, has dismissed recent allegations against the gubernatorial candidate of the party, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola fondly called Yayi.
While speaking on a popular programme “Citizen Forum” on Rock City FM in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capita on Tuesday, Adeniji challenged those alleging that the APC candidate is from outside Ogun State to provide specific evidence to support their claims.
According to him, “I have challenged them over time, and I am still challenging them to come out and tell us the local government and the household in Ekiti State, or whichever state they claim Yayi is from. Till today, they cannot mention it”
Adeniji accused some individuals, including Marcus-Bello and Wale Adedayo, of allegedly spreading what he described as false claims about Yayi, saying they are “malicious and deliberately crafted falsehoods”.
“You know what? These people and their preferred candidate, Ladi Adebutu, have nothing to offer and that is why they have made these false narrative their focus. They are incompetent and lazy hence the resort to campaign of calumny”.
Adeniji however urged political opponents to focus their campaigns on issues that directly affect the people rather than what he called “baseless” claims. He said Yayi would build on the achievements of the incumbent administration if elected governor in 2027.
“Yayi has said he will consolidate on what Dapo Abiodun has done. He will also ensure that the oil in Eba comes to light so that Ogun State’s IGR will increase”.
He further referred to what he described as an “Itesiwaju agenda,” saying details would soon be unveiled in the state.
Adeniji maintained that the 2027 campaign should be centred on the candidates’ programmes, records and plans for Ogun State.
He added, “Not those baseless, carefully crafted innuendos by the weak and incompetent opposition, just to bring Yayi down will fly in 2027. But I am happy that the people of Ogun State are wiser”.
“They are saying no. If you say Yayi is from Zamfara, we are going to vote for him because we know he is credible, he is competent, and he has proven that he will do more when he becomes the governor of Ogun State,” Adeniji said.
