Trump’s “Thugs Out On The Street”: ICE Killing Of 25-Year-Old Columbian Highlights Criminality Of Trump’s Presidency

And, at home, Trump’s armed killers, in ICE, continue to take the lives of innocent people like former Maine resident 25-year-old Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero. This week, a lawyer representing the family of Mr. Guerrero, a documented immigrant who was killed by ICE agent David Brouillette, 37, on July 13, in Maine, says he will be suing the U.S. government over Guerrero’s killing. Attorney Ben Gideon, while highlighting the reported violent behavior and mental health history of ICE agent Brouillette, said, “I mean, there’s no way anybody can reasonably have thought that this shooter was appropriate to arm with a gun and a badge. What’s really happening is they want to put thugs out on the street because part of their mission is to create fear.” Mr. Gideon is absolutely correct. The Trump Administration’s ICE “thugs” are being deployed to create a climate of fear in America. ICE is now a rogue lawless law enforcement agency. It should be abolished. Will more Democrats call for this, or will they continue to remain silent as these murderous “thugs” kill innocent immigrants–and Americans? Are we surprised this Administration hired someone so unfit and gave him a gun? Who are these unknown masked ICE goons who brutalize with impunity? How many of them are the white supremacist types who rampaged through Congress on Jan. 6. 2021? How many are members of groups like the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys? How much more of this Trumpian thuggery will everyday Americans tolerate? Guerrero, who was a Columbian immigrant with a work permit, is the second person to be killed in cold blood in recent weeks by Trump’s death squads. How much more of this criminality will Americans allow from the administration of the country’s first convict president? Guerrero’s killing follows the July 7, killing of 52-year-old Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston, Texas. Araujo was shot dead while driving to work and Guerrero was dragged from his car and shot dead–in front of his three-year-old daughter. Even worse, like Araujo, we are now told ICE targeted the wrong person, when they killed Guerrero. But will the ICE executioners be held accountable by the Trump government? Of course not. And, ironically, the so-called party of “law and order,” the Republicans, will defend these indefensible killings, if they say anything at all. Moreover, the corrupt John Roberts U.S. Supreme Court’s Presidential Immunity ruling, of 2024, basically said Trump can commit crimes, while he is performing his presidential duties. Yet, we are told, “No one is above the law.” What bull. Why do you think innocent Caribbean fishermen, as well as those in the Pacific, are being openly executed in international waters–without the benefit of a trial–while these supposed honorable Supreme Court justices turn a blind eye to these obvious crimes against humanity? If these conservative justices really care about the “rule of law” they would be denouncing these extra-judicial killings. If these murderous federal agent thugs aren’t being held accountable for killing white Americans, by this Administration, do we really believe they will seek justice for Latinos being killed by ICE? Most of the nation has heard of the killings of Renée Nicole Good and Alex Pretti, in Minnesota, back in January. But over 60 immigrants have been killed by Trump’s goons in ICE. The killers, or murderers, of Good And Pretti are not only still at large–but are, likely, still walking around working with the guns that they killed Good and Pretti with. It has been six months since Good and Pretti were killed. None of these killers have faced any justice. This is the “law and order” of the criminal Trump Administration. Recently, Minnesota authorities reported that they finally received evidence regarding the killings of Good and Pretti. Trump’s government henchmen have been obstructing Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, and Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty, from viewing evidence in the Good and Pretti cases. We must note this: Attorney General Ellison, and County Attorney Moriarty, are only getting this evidence after they took the unprecedented step of suing the federal government, in March. If Trump’ s regime is protecting the killers of two white people–including one, Pretti, who was a poster-child for patriotism: an ICU nurse, who nursed veterans, including dying ones, do we think they will take action against agents who killed Latinos, like Mr. Araujo, in Texas and Mr. Guerrero, in Maine?
