Some holidays arrive at exactly the right moment. Trendy Perge Resort & Suites was ours.
After months of hospital appointments and the emotional rollercoaster of radiotherapy following breast cancer treatment, I longed for somewhere that required absolutely nothing from me. I wasn’t looking for sightseeing itineraries or another list of things to organise. I wanted sunshine, warmth and the chance to breathe again.
At the same time, my two daughters had just finished the marathon of GCSE and A-Level exams. After months of revision and pressure, we were all ready to celebrate. More than anything, I wanted time together, free from deadlines, appointments and alarm clocks.
Set on Antalya’s Kundu coastline, Trendy Perge Resort & Suites is a brand-new 5-star, ultra all-inclusive resort that caters brilliantly for modern families. Whether your perfect holiday involves lounging by the pool with a book, tackling waterslides, playing padel or dancing into the evening, there’s space for everyone to holiday in their own way.
Although it’s a large resort, clever landscaping, contemporary architecture and generous open spaces stop it from ever feeling overcrowded. Quiet corners, shaded terraces and multiple pools create plenty of opportunities to escape the buzz whenever you choose.
Who For
Trendy Perge is ideal for families, particularly those with teenagers who have outgrown traditional kids’ clubs but still want plenty to keep them occupied.
My daughters happily disappeared to play padel, join organised activities or brave the waterslides.
They even persuaded me onto the resort’s most dramatic slide. Sitting in a dinghy before plunging a near-vertical drop, soaring back up the opposite side and then travelling backwards again was equal parts terrifying and hilarious — exactly the sort of shared experience that becomes a lasting family memory.
The resort also works well for couples, thanks to its spacious layout and private beach, reached via a hotel-operated catamaran that ferries guests across the water throughout the day.
Accommodation

Swim up delux room
We stayed in a Family Suite Swim-Up room, which quickly became one of the highlights of our holiday.
Opening the patio doors each morning and stepping straight into the pool felt wonderfully indulgent after months when relaxation had often meant collapsing onto the sofa after hospital appointments.
The split-level layout gave us plenty of space. My daughters had their own area upstairs while I could enjoy the peaceful terrace downstairs overlooking the water. That terrace became our favourite place. Mornings started there with coffee, while evenings ended chatting together as the late-afternoon sun bathed our side of the resort in golden light. Watching spectacular sunsets reflected across the still water of our swim-up pool became a nightly ritual and one of the moments I’ll remember most.

Swim Up rooms
The accommodation throughout the resort has a fresh, contemporary feel, with options ranging from Deluxe Rooms to larger Family and King Suites. If your budget allows, the swim-up rooms add an extra layer of luxury that’s well worth considering.
Food & Drink
With an Ultra All-Inclusive concept, dining is one of Trendy Perge’s greatest strengths.
The main Avvento Restaurant offers an enormous variety of international cuisine, from fresh salads and grilled dishes to Turkish specialities and generous breakfast spreads that make lingering over coffee all too easy.
The resort’s à la carte restaurants provide a welcome change of scene. We particularly enjoyed Sapori Ristorante, where comforting pasta dishes and classic Italian flavours made for a relaxed family dinner, while Sol Azteca added a livelier atmosphere with its Mexican-inspired menu. Our favourite evening, however, was at Flamma Steak House, where perfectly cooked steaks made for a real holiday treat and a welcome break from the buffet.
Another daily ritual was a visit to Aveline Patisserie, whose elegant displays of handmade cakes, delicate pastries and
speciality coffees proved impossible to resist. Whether it was a mid-morning cappuccino or an afternoon sweet treat, it quickly became one of our favourite places to pause and recharge.
One of my favourite discoveries, however, wasn’t inside a restaurant at all.
Each lunchtime, one of the local Turkish women stood beside the Oasis Pool Bar making fresh gözleme by hand. The thin flatbread, filled with cheese, spinach and potato before being cooked on a hot griddle, attracted an orderly queue long before it was ready. My youngest daughter, Amalie, couldn’t get enough of it and returned most days asking for “just one more”. Sometimes the simplest food creates the strongest holiday memories.
The Prime Pub quickly became a popular gathering place in the evenings, especially when England were playing their World Cup matches, creating a lively atmosphere as families and friends came together to watch the football over drinks.
After dinner, the resort moves effortlessly into evening mode with live music, DJs and entertainment. Nothing feels overly organised or forced; guests drift towards the music, find a table with a drink and enjoy the atmosphere long after the sun has gone down.
Facilities
The facilities are where Trendy Perge really shines. Several pools cater for every mood, from quieter relaxation areas to lively family pools and an excellent aqua park that kept my daughters entertained for hours.
For anyone wanting to stay active, the four padel courts are a real asset. One afternoon, despite the soaring temperatures, my eldest daughter, Ella, challenged me to a match. By the end, we were both exhausted, laughing and wondering why we’d thought exercising in the Turkish heat had seemed like such a good idea.
Guests can also make use of the gym, volleyball courts, fitness classes and a packed daily activity programme, while younger children have splash areas, playgrounds and a supervised kids’ club.
What impressed me most, though, was the entertainment team. Friendly, energetic and completely genuine, they quickly built a lovely rapport with both my daughters, encouraging them to join in dancing and evening activities without ever being pushy.
By the end of the holiday, they’d formed a real bond, promising to keep in touch after we’d returned home. It was exactly the kind of authentic interaction that can’t be manufactured and made the experience feel especially
What’s Nearby
Although many guests will happily spend the entire week within the resort, Antalya deserves exploration.
The historic old town, Kaleiçi, is 25 minutes away by taxi and offers a complete contrast to the modern coastline. Cobbled streets wind between beautifully restored Ottoman houses, boutique shops, rooftop restaurants and atmospheric cafés overlooking the marina.
History lovers should also visit the ancient city of Perge, from which the resort takes its name. Just 15 to 20 minutes away, the remarkably preserved Roman city features monumental gates, collonaded streets, baths, fountains and one of Turkey’s finest surviving ancient stadiums.
Walking through its impressive ruins is a reminder that this stretch of coastline has welcomed travellers for more than 3,000 years.
How Much
Prices vary according to season and room category. (https://trendy.com.tr/en/trend
y-perge-resort-suites/ ) Family Swim-Up Suites are among the premium options, but for us, the additional space, privacy and direct pool access made them worth the extra cost.
Verdict
Trendy Perge Resort & Suites isn’t trying to be a secluded boutique retreat, nor should it. Instead, it confidently delivers exactly what today’s families are looking for: stylish accommodation, excellent food, impressive facilities and enough variety to keep every generation happy. For us, though, it became much more than simply another holiday. After months dominated by hospitals, treatment and uncertainty, this was where life finally began to feel normal again. It was watching my daughters laugh until they cried on the waterslides, queuing together for fresh gözleme, seeing them welcomed so warmly by the entertainment team, and ending each evening watching another spectacular sunset from our swim-up terrace.
Sometimes the best holidays aren’t about seeing more or doing more. They’re about rediscovering the simple joy of being together. That’s exactly what Trendy Perge gave us.
