By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): The midweek tropical wave has crossed and cleared, and Belize returns to sunshine as July enters its final stretch, with only isolated showers on the map and the tropics staying quiet.
According to the National Meteorological Service, a moderate and relatively moist easterly airflow prevails. Skies will be sunny today with a few cloudy spells, turning partly cloudy tonight, with showers or thunderstorms staying isolated.
The heat climbs back with the clearing. Temperatures along the coast will reach a high of 89 degrees Fahrenheit (32 Celsius) and a low of 82 (28 Celsius). Inland areas will return to 94 degrees Fahrenheit (34 Celsius) before dropping to 74 (23 Celsius). In the hills, expect a high of 82 degrees Fahrenheit (28 Celsius) and a low of 68 (20 Celsius).
At sea, the water carries some bounce, with easterly winds of 10 to 20 knots, choppy seas, and waves of 3 to 5 feet, so smaller vessels should take the usual care.
On the tropical front, the calm holds. Tropical cyclone formation is not expected in the region over the next 48 hours.
Looking ahead to Friday and Friday night, skies turn partly cloudy, becoming cloudy at times, with a few morning showers or isolated thunderstorms developing mainly along the coast and over the south, gradually decreasing by afternoon.
Today’s high tides are at 10:09 AM and 11:18 PM, with a low tide at 5:23 PM and another low at 4:40 AM tomorrow. The sun rose at 5:31 AM and will set at 6:26 PM. The forecast was issued by forecaster Catherine Cumberbatch.
