Safaricom Ethiopia Launches DONNA Road Safety Campaign for Employees

Safaricom Ethiopia  has launched DONNA, a new road safety campaign aimed at promoting safer driving practices and strengthening a culture of safety among its employees.

The initiative, unveiled by the telecommunications operator, is designed to encourage staff to adopt five essential road safety habits in their daily routines. The campaign is represented by DONNA, a young Ethiopian girl who serves as a symbol and reminder that every journey begins with making responsible decisions behind the wheel.

The DONNA campaign focuses on five key principles: Don’t drink and drive, Only drive during the day, No phone while driving, No overspeeding, and Always wear seatbelts. The company said these simple but critical habits are intended to reduce road risks and encourage responsible driving behaviour.

As part of the campaign, Safaricom Ethiopia employees will participate in weekly activities, awareness sessions and interactive challenges aimed at reinforcing the five road safety practices. The company said the programme is intended to help transform these guidelines into lasting habits while fostering a stronger workplace culture centred on safety.

Safaricom Ethiopia added that the campaign reflects its commitment to employee wellbeing and responsible road use, reinforcing the importance of making safe choices every time staff get behind the wheel.
