Oxano Capital Invests in Kenyan Fintech Sevi to Expand SME Financing

Oxano Capital  has added Kenyan fintech Sevi to its investment portfolio, backing the company as it expands access to working capital for micro and small businesses. Sevi’s digital platform enables retailers to access stock financing directly within existing supply chains, helping them purchase inventory without traditional collateral while ensuring suppliers receive immediate payment.

Founded by Walter aan de Wiel and Bartel Verkruijssen, Sevi was established to address the financing challenges faced by small retailers that struggle to access affordable credit. Its Order Now, Pay Later model embeds financing into inventory purchases, allowing businesses to secure stock when needed and improve cash flow through a streamlined digital platform.

Oxano Capital said the investment aligns with its strategy of supporting businesses that combine commercial growth with measurable social impact. By strengthening access to working capital, Sevi helps retailers maintain inventory, increase sales, create jobs, and improve access to essential goods within local communities. The fintech also promotes financial inclusion by extending collateral-free financing to underserved entrepreneurs, including women-owned businesses.

Having established a strong presence in Kenya, Sevi is now focused on scaling its operations and deepening its impact. Oxano Capital said it will work closely with the company’s leadership team to support its growth while advancing financial inclusion and building more resilient local economies across the region.
