One more hot, sunny day before Wednesday’s showers arrive

By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Belize gets one more day of full sunshine and serious heat, with inland temperatures reaching 95 degrees, before changes arrive tomorrow, when showers and thunderstorms return to northern, central, and offshore areas.

According to the National Meteorological Service, mainly fair and warm conditions hold for today, with sunny skies and a few cloudy spells, turning partly cloudy tonight. Showers will be isolated.

Temperatures along the coast will reach a high of 89 degrees Fahrenheit (32 Celsius) and a low of 82 (28 Celsius). Inland areas will be the hottest in the country, climbing to 95 degrees Fahrenheit (35 Celsius) before dropping to 72 (22 Celsius). In the hills, expect a high of 82 degrees Fahrenheit (28 Celsius) and a cool low of 67 (19 Celsius). With the mercury back at 95 inland, hydration and shade breaks remain the order of the day.

At sea, winds will blow from the east at 10 to 15 knots, with conditions ranging from a light chop to choppy and waves of 2 to 5 feet.

The change comes Wednesday. Cloudy spells with a few showers or thunderstorms are expected mainly over some northern, central, and offshore areas, with activity gradually decreasing by afternoon, then redeveloping over the south late on Wednesday night.

On the tropical front, the calm continues, with no tropical cyclone formation expected in the region over the next 48 hours.

Today’s high tides are at 8:51 AM and 10:19 PM, with a low tide at 4:26 PM and another low at 3:14 AM tomorrow. The sun rose at 5:30 AM and will set at 6:27 PM. The forecast was issued by forecaster Crystal Rosalez.
