“The referrals from our list of happy customers have been tremendous,” Berry says. “We build a very high-quality system and really do a good job. People appreciate that.”

While many industries experienced temporary surges during the pandemic before leveling off, marina development continues to benefit from increased boat ownership and sustained demand for waterfront storage and docking facilities.

“Civil projects like these typically take three to five years from conception to installation,” Berry explains. “We’re still feeling the effects of that boating boom because everyone needs somewhere to put those boats.”

“It’s another world and a very challenging environment,” Berry explains. “High salinity, hurricane regions, big storm surge, extreme heat—it can be a nightmare for construction in general. But we understand it and specialize in it.”

“Everything we make is custom-built,” Berry says. “But we design our systems so they’re very shippable. They fit efficiently into containers or on flat racks because shipping is a huge factor.”

“We organize all the logistics,” Murray explains. “The containers come to our plant, we load them ourselves, we control the quality, and they’re delivered directly to the Caribbean. The customer doesn’t have to worry about all the transportation details because we handle that.”

That ability to simplify international projects has become another important differentiator, particularly for developers unfamiliar with cross-border shipping and island logistics.

Investing in Innovation

Growth has been accompanied by substantial reinvestment into Marina Technologies’ own operations.

“We’ve invested in a larger plant with the latest equipment,” Murray says. “It’s allowing us to take on the market growth while serving more customers efficiently.”

Meanwhile, the Florida concrete manufacturing operation is relocating into a larger facility equipped with overhead cranes and expanded indoor production capacity, allowing year-round manufacturing regardless of weather conditions.

Beyond facilities, innovation remains an ongoing priority.

“We’re continuously doing research and development,” Murray says. “Many competitors have been selling the same systems for 25 or 30 years without significant changes. We continue improving our products to withstand today’s realities in terms of waves, wind, hurricanes, and exposure.”

That constant refinement reflects a philosophy that engineering should continually evolve alongside environmental challenges rather than relying on designs developed decades earlier.

Showcasing Excellence in the Bahamas

Among Marina Technologies’ recent accomplishments is the completion of the Blue Water Cay Marina in Nassau, Bahamas, a landmark development that demonstrates the company’s engineering capabilities.

Designed to withstand Category 3 hurricane conditions, the luxury marina integrates floating docks, concealed utility infrastructure, fuel dispensing systems, Wi-Fi, lighting, sewer services, and sophisticated mechanical systems within a clean architectural design.

“This is really a five-star marina,” Murray says. “Everything is integrated inside the framing so the aesthetics remain clean while providing all the services.”

The project also includes the Bahamas’ first large-scale dry stack facility capable of storing hundreds of vessels in a hurricane-rated structure.

“This is the first of its kind anywhere in the Bahamas,” Berry says. “It’s a huge step forward for marina development in the region.”
