LaMelo Ball has officially closed the chapter on his Charlotte era, but before he begins his next adventure with the Minnesota Timberwolves, the internet got one last unforgettable glimpse inside the home he left behind. A mover helping pack up the All-Star guard’s belongings posted a short video from inside Ball’s penthouse, and social media immediately did what it does best: zoom in on every bizarre, over-the-top detail.

The viral clip comes just weeks after Ball’s blockbuster trade to Minnesota, ending a six-year run with the Hornets. While Charlotte never reached the heights many envisioned after drafting the flashy point guard, Ball still established himself as one of the league’s most entertaining players and one of basketball’s biggest personalities. Now, with Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves, he’ll get a fresh start and perhaps the best chance of his career to compete on a consistent playoff contender.

Of course, LaMelo has never exactly been known for doing things the conventional way, and apparently that extends well beyond the basketball court. The mover’s video reveals a penthouse that looks more like an upscale arcade, sci-fi museum and sneaker collector’s paradise rather than the home of an NBA player. Everywhere the camera turned, there was something else competing for your attention.

Among the things that caught fans’ eyes were alien statues standing throughout the home, galaxy-inspired countertops, a massive custom Rick and Morty mural featuring Ball himself, video game setups, a Pop-A-Shot basketball game, an enormous sneaker collection and countless neon decorations. Even smaller details — like an “emergency” framed stack of cash and quirky bathroom signs featuring aliens and Bigfoot — had social media cracking jokes that the apartment looked like Dave & Buster’s, Area 51 and a Roblox world all rolled into one.

As outrageous as it all may seem, longtime LaMelo fans probably weren’t all that surprised. Ever since arriving in the NBA, Ball has embraced being different, whether it’s through his flashy passes, custom cars, one-of-one fashion choices or outspoken personality. His home simply appears to be another extension of the same larger-than-life image he’s built over the years.

Speaking of those cars, the apartment offered another reminder of just how unique Ball’s collection and lifestyle have become. The penthouse may have stolen headlines this week, but it’s far from the only part of his lifestyle that’s turned heads.

Whether you think the place looked incredible or completely over the top, one thing is certain: nobody can accuse LaMelo Ball of being boring. If his Charlotte penthouse is any indication, fans should probably expect plenty more unforgettable moments now that he’s beginning a new chapter in Minnesota. And judging by the reaction online, people will be paying attention to much more than just what happens on the court.
