That reign also included a Falls Count Anywhere match against Darby Allin in front of nearly 50,000 fans at Wembley Stadium, a moment Knight says only fueled his motivation. “Darby had to bring a legend like Sting with the baseball bat to try to end my reign,” Knight said. “Honestly, it felt like it gave me more power.”

Knight is equally direct about the shift in his in-ring persona. “A nice guy finishes last in whatever aspect that it is,” he said. “People may not agree with it, people may not like it, but they gotta respect it.”

Knight also pointed to the leadership behind AEW as a driving force behind the event. “Tony Khan genuinely cares for all of his performers that he has on his roster,” he said. “It’s a community, family effort.”

What’s next for Kevin Knight following his TNT Championship reign?

With the TNT Championship no longer in his possession, Knight’s sights are set on earning respect from both fans and peers — including current tag team partner Kyle Fletcher, ahead of their tables match against the Young Bucks. Asked about a future world title run, Knight kept his answer measured: “We don’t like to rush anything. We like to let things happen the way that they happen.”
