Spiro Uganda has enlisted celebrated musician Shafik Walukagga, popularly known as Fik Fameica, as its new brand ambassador, in a move aimed at accelerating the adoption of electric mobility across the country.

The partnership signals the company’s growing effort to tap into popular culture and youth influence to promote sustainable transport solutions, particularly among boda boda riders who form the backbone of urban mobility.

Company officials said Fik Fameica was selected because his personal journey mirrors the resilience and ambition of thousands of riders who depend on motorcycles for their daily livelihoods. From modest beginnings to national fame, the artist embodies the determination that Spiro says defines its customer base.

“His journey reflects resilience, ambition and hard work—qualities shared by many of our riders who are working to build better futures for themselves and their families,” the company said in a statement.

Beyond his music career, Spiro noted that the artist’s widespread appeal and ability to connect with diverse audiences makes him a strategic partner as the company seeks to deepen its footprint in Uganda’s transport sector.

The firm is positioning the partnership as part of a broader campaign to raise awareness about electric motorcycles, which are increasingly being promoted as a cleaner and more cost-effective alternative to conventional fuel-powered bikes.

Winnie Atim, Spiro Uganda’s communications officer, said the collaboration is expected to strengthen the company’s engagement with communities while amplifying its message on sustainable mobility.

“Fik Fameica is more than an artist; he is a voice that resonates with millions of Ugandans. His authenticity and influence align with our vision as we work to drive the future of mobility in Uganda,” Atim said.

She added that the company hopes the partnership will inspire more riders to transition to electric motorcycles, which are gaining traction amid rising fuel costs and growing environmental concerns.

For Fik Fameica, the deal represents an opportunity to be part of what he described as a transformative shift in the transport sector.

“I’m excited to join the Spiro family and be part of a movement that is changing how Ugandans move. This is about more than motorcycles—it is about creating opportunities, embracing innovation and building a cleaner future,” he said.

Spiro Uganda has in recent years expanded its presence in the country, targeting boda boda operators with electric alternatives that promise lower operating costs and reduced carbon emissions.
