Cristobal weakens as 2 other Tropical Systems show signs of development

By Zoila Palma:  Tropical Depression Cristobal is expected to dissipate today after weakening from a tropical storm in the Atlantic.

The National Hurricane Center said Cristobal was located about 600 miles west of the Azores as of its latest advisory.

Meanwhile, a tropical wave in the central tropical Atlantic, designated AL92, is showing signs of organization and could become a short-lived tropical depression within the next day or two.

The system is moving westward and has an 80 percent chance of developing over the next 48 hours and seven days. Regardless of development, gusty winds and heavy rainfall could affect the Lesser Antilles Friday night and Saturday.

Another tropical wave, AL94, located several hundred miles south-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands, is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Conditions could support gradual development later this week or over the weekend as the system moves westward to west-northwestward.

The National Hurricane Center gives AL94 a 30 percent chance of development within 48 hours and a 50 percent chance over the next seven days.
