Blue Pappi Unveils Star-Studded Lineup For Joburg Leg Of “Ehlane Tour.” Johannesburg’s underground hip-hop scene is getting a fresh dose of energy this Friday as Ladysmith-born rapper Blue Pappi brings his Ehlane Tour to Melville.
The artist, whose real name is Bongumenzi Gumede, will take over Circle on 7th on Friday, 28 August 2026, for the Johannesburg leg of the tour. The intimate venue is set to host a diverse lineup that brings together some of the country’s established underground voices and rising acts.
Joining Blue Pappi on the bill are Jay Jody, Marcus Harvey, Lowfeye, Lacabra, Dolphin Dx, Dusse Wavy, 031Choppa & Shoesmeister, Yo.Miya, Frank Apollo and Gvnt.
The show arrives as Blue Pappi continues building momentum around his Ehlane era, following the release of his nine-track Road to Ehlane EP in July. The project blends introspective storytelling with energetic cuts, including “Ama Getdown” and the Jay Jody-assisted “Umandla.”
With a colourful stop-sign-inspired aesthetic and a lineup designed to showcase different sides of the local underground, the Johannesburg show promises to be more than just another night on the gig calendar. It serves as a live introduction to the world Blue Pappi is creating around Ehlane.
Tickets are currently being sold in phases, with Phase 1 priced at R80, Phase 2 at R100 and tickets at the door going for R150. Online tickets for the Johannesburg show are already available.
The Melville date is the first major stop on a tour that will continue to Durban on 18 September and Cape Town on 16 October. An additional Durban date is still expected to be announced.
The tour forms part of Blue Pappi’s wider rollout towards his upcoming Ehlane mixtape and eventually Emadlelweni 2.0, the planned follow-up to his 2025 debut project, Emadlelweni Aluhlaza.
For fans who have followed Blue Pappi from his early school-choir days through the Qwellers collective and his growing list of collaborations, Friday’s show offers an opportunity to hear the next chapter before it fully unfolds.
With Circle on 7th providing an intimate setting and a heavyweight underground lineup on the bill, Blue Pappi’s Ehlane Tour is bringing its Johannesburg chapter to life one stage at a time.
The road to Ehlane officially runs through Melville this Friday.
