Urambo development projects receive 3bn/- boost

TABORA: THE government in collaboration with residents of Urambo District in Tabora Region, has continued to implement various development projects worth more than 3bn/- in education, health, energy, roads and water supply.

The development was highlighted yesterday during the National Uhuru Torch Race in Tabora Region, when Uhuru Torch race leader, Wazo Michael launched and laid foundation stones for various development projects in the district.

Mr Michael commended the implementation of the projects and urged residents to maintain peace, unity and solidarity within their communities.

Urambo MP, Magreth Sitta together with residents stressed the importance of completing the maternal and child health services project, saying the facility would play a vital role in strengthening healthcare services in the community.

They called for the project to be expedited. Meanwhile, Urambo District Commissioner, Dr Khamis Mkanachi said the government would continue providing loans to young people and other groups through the 10 per cent council revenue allocation to enable them to establish and expand income-generating activities.

The Uhuru Torch covered more than 119 kilometres during its tour of Urambo District under the theme: “Tanzania is Ours, Let Us Unite to Bring Development.”
