By Breaking Belize News Staff: Two men accused of carrying out a daylight robbery at Alfaro’s Construction and Design Company in San Pedro Town have pleaded not guilty in the High Court.
Christian Denvor Ramos, who was 19 at the time of the incident, and Trevor Ralph Lopez, then 27, were indicted on a single count of robbery before Justice Nigel Pilgrim on Wednesday afternoon.
The charge arises from a March 7, 2025 robbery in which the company’s accountant was allegedly held at gunpoint while preparing cash payments for employees.
The indictment alleges that Ramos and Lopez stole $165,000 in total value assorted in cash, two iPhones, a gold chain with a cross pendant, a bracelet, a wallet and a watch.
Police said the robbery occurred at approximately 9:11 a.m. when two men entered the company’s office, held the accountant at gunpoint and took the cash, jewellery and other personal belongings.
Ramos and Lopez were detained shortly after the robbery, and police reported recovering a portion of the stolen cash and jewellery. They were arraigned in the San Pedro Magistrate’s Court on March 11, 2025, and initially remanded to the Belize Central Prison.
Investigators also identified a third person in connection with the robbery, but no additional arrest has been reported.
Both men are presently out on bail, which was extended by Justice Pilgrim. Ramos is represented by attorney Arthur Saldivar, while Lopez is currently unrepresented.
Their case was adjourned until October 2, 2026, for a case management conference, as Justice Pilgrim’s trial calendar for the remainder of the year is already full.
