‘The Devil This Time Used Meh’: Security guard fined $800 after caught on camera stealing $2,000 motorcycle

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City security guard who admitted stealing a $2,000 motorcycle told a Magistrate that “the devil this time used me” as he pleaded for leniency in court on Friday.

Twenty-six-year-old Jaimie Adrian Fuller, a security guard employed with Fort Point Security Company, appeared unrepresented in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court, where he pleaded guilty to a single charge of theft.

Fuller was accused of stealing a green Lifan motorcycle valued at $2,000 from Patrick Martinez on September 16, 2026.

According to the prosecution’s case, Martinez had left the damaged motorcycle near a laundromat on Freetown Road. When he later checked for it, the motorcycle was gone.

Police investigating the theft reviewed surveillance footage which reportedly showed a shirtless man pushing the motorcycle away from Freetown Road and through nearby streets, including Douglas Jones Street and Yorke Street.

An officer who reviewed the footage reportedly recognized the man as Fuller. Police said the individual captured on camera also appeared to walk with a limp.

Fuller pleaded guilty but offered an explanation to the court, saying he had done wrong and was willing to pay for any damage caused to the motorcycle.

“I did the wrong thing, but at the moment I never realized what I was doing. I returned the cycle and I am willing to pay for damages caused to it if I must,” Fuller told the court.

He also explained that he helps care for his mother and sister and expressed remorse for his actions.

“The devil this time used me,” Fuller told the Magistrate.

Taking his guilty plea and mitigation into consideration, the Magistrate imposed a non-custodial sentence, fining Fuller $800 plus $5 cost of court.

He has until November 30, 2026, to pay the fine or face three months imprisonment.
