The Biggest Moments from D23 2026: ‘Incredibles 3’, ‘Doomsday’, and an X-Men Cast Reveal

Disney’s ultimate fan event came back to Anaheim this weekend and didn’t waste a single second. D23 2026 was a full showcase of star-studded reveals, first looks, and announcements that are going to fuel conversations well into 2028. Pixar nostalgia, MCU chaos, and a mutant reveal that broke the internet – here’s everything worth talking about.

The Incredibles 3 Is Officially Happening

Pixar opened the weekend with the announcement everyone has been waiting on for years. The Incredibles 3 is officially in active development, and Brad Bird, the original writer and director, is coming back to helm it.

The third installment picks up in the aftermath of superheroes regaining their legal status, the hard-won victory the Parr family helped secure at the end of Incredibles 2 after defeating the villainous Screenslaver. This time around, the next generation steps into the spotlight. Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack move into the leading roles, sneaking out of the house at night to protect the city while keeping the whole operation hidden from their parents. Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl raising a family of secret vigilantes is exactly the kind of chaotic energy this franchise was built for.

Marvel Gives a First Look at Vision Quest

On the television side, Marvel Studios unveiled the first look at Vision Quest, the upcoming Disney+ series starring Paul Bettany. Picking up after the events of WandaVision, the white Vision is back, navigating restored memories, searching for identity, and trying to figure out where he belongs in a universe that has already moved on without him.

The footage had a moody, cerebral tone that felt completely different from anything Marvel has put on the small screen before. This one is going to hit differently.

A Special Look at Avengers: Doomsday

Kevin Feige brought the arena to a standstill when he dropped an exclusive preview of Avengers: Doomsday, and the room didn’t recover for a while. Footage was kept strictly in the building, but what audiences got was a chilling, action-packed look at the multiverse unraveling as Robert Downey Jr.‘s Doctor Doom begins pulling the strings.

The X-Men Cast Revealed

Marvel saved its biggest moment for last, and it delivered. Feige and director Jake Schreier took the stage to officially introduce the live-action mutant lineup for the highly anticipated X-Men feature film, and the announcements came one after another.

Sadie Sink, who made her debut as Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, kicked things off before being joined onstage by her new castmates. Kit Connor was announced as Scott Summers, also known as Cyclops. Christopher Abbott will step into the role of Professor Charles Xavier. Samara Weaving takes on Emma Frost, while Inde Navarrette will play Rogue. And rounding out the lineup, Maya Boyd was revealed as Storm.

And then came the closer. Adam Driver appeared via video to confirm he will be playing villain Nathaniel Milbury (Sinister). Marvel officially confirmed the untitled X-Men film hits theaters exclusively on May 5, 2028, marking the moment the mutants formally arrive at the center of the MCU.

D23 2026 did what it came to do. The summer just got a lot longer to think about all of this.
