By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Santa Elena man has been charged after police say he attempted to flee from officers on a motorcycle before being caught with ammunition.
Police have charged 22-year-old Quintin Palacio with kept ammunition without a gun licence.
ASP Stacy Smith said officers were conducting an operation shortly after 5:00 p.m. on September 1 when their attention was drawn to Palacio, who was travelling on a motorcycle.
Police attempted to intercept him, but Palacio allegedly fled, prompting officers to pursue and detain him.
A search of a bag in his possession reportedly turned up five rounds of G80-brand 9mm ammunition.
Police also reported that Palacio had been travelling in a speedy and reckless manner.
