BC NDP MLAs joined workers, union members, and community members at the Metro Vancouver Labour Day Celebration on Labour Day, recognizing the contributions of working people and reaffirming their support for workers’ rights and the labour movement.
Labour Day is an opportunity to recognize the achievements and contributions of workers across British Columbia and the important role of organized labour in advancing workplace protections, fair wages, safe working conditions, and stronger communities.
The MLAs said they were proud to stand alongside workers and labour leaders to mark Labour Day and celebrate the people whose work strengthens communities and drives British Columbia’s economy. MLAs in attendance included Amna Shah, Garry Begg, Jennifer Whiteside, Niki Sharma, Christine Boyle, Sunita Dhir, Raj Chouhan, Adrian Dix, Janet Routledge, and Jennifer Blatherwick.

The Metro Vancouver Labour Day Celebration highlighted the ongoing partnership between workers, unions, and community organizations in building a more inclusive and prosperous province. The event featured opportunities for workers and families to gather in celebration of the labour movement and its continued contributions to British Columbia.
Hosted by the New Westminster & District Labour Council and the Vancouver & District Labour Council, the celebration took place at Edmonds Park in Burnaby and brought together labour organizations and working families from across the region.
