Rwanda and US Sign Strategic Agreement to Advance Health Cooperation

Rwanda and the United States have signed a Strategic Objective Agreement (SOAG) aimed at translating commitments under their existing health cooperation framework into concrete programmes and initiatives.

The agreement builds on a five-year Health Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the two countries in December 2025.

The new SOAG establishes a framework for implementing the shared commitments between Rwanda and the US while supporting priorities within Rwanda’s health sector.

The agreement is expected to strengthen bilateral cooperation in health and provide a structure for coordinating efforts aimed at addressing Rwanda’s healthcare needs.

The latest development underscores the continued health partnership between Rwanda and the United States, with the SOAG serving as an implementation framework for the commitments established under the 2025 cooperation agreement.
