Phoebe Bridgers Scores Her First U.K. Solo No. 1 Album With ‘Lost Weekend’

Phoebe Bridgers has scored her first solo U.K. No. 1 album with Lost Weekend on the chart published Friday (Aug. 21).

The singer-songwriter’s third studio album tops the Official Albums Chart in its opening week, surpassing her 2020 LP, Punisher, which landed at No. 6. She previously hit the top spot in 2023 with boygenius, a supergroup formed with Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker, and their debut album, The Record. The latter peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 upon release.

The LP also marks the first U.K. No. 1 for Bridgers’ label, Dead Oceans, per the Official Charts Company. Over the years, the indie label has released music by Mitski, Japanese Breakfast and Khruangbin, among others.

On Wednesday (Aug. 19), Bridgers was forced to cancel the remaining shows on her intimate underplay tour of the U.K. owing to illness, revealing that she got “appendicitis for my birthday.”

KATSEYE land its best ever finish on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart with its third EP, Wild, which closes the week at No. 2. It passes the girl group’s previous career-best for Beautiful Chaos, which placed at No. 55 last year.

Irish group The Script earn its ninth U.K. top 10 with The User’s Guide to Being Human finishing at No. 3. It’s followed by British group Jungle, who closed at No. 4 with fifth studio album Sunshine. Michael Jackson’s The Essential greatest hits collection ends the week at No. 5.

Elsewhere there are top 40 debuts for former UFC fighter-turned-musician Kris Barras at No. 21 (Monsters We Made) and Marilyn Manson at No. 27 (One Assassination Under God – Chapter 2).
