Panera Bread has rolled out a major update to its MyPanera rewards program — a shift to a points-based system designed to give members more choice, more flexibility and more value. The refresh launched nationwide on August 19 and marks one of the biggest changes to the program since it debuted more than a decade ago.
The update arrives alongside Panera’s new “Refreshingly Loyal” campaign starring Keke Palmer. In the digital spots, Palmer uses her trademark humor to reframe conversations about loyalty — before revealing that the relationship she’s talking about is actually with MyPanera. The campaign is part of Panera’s broader RISE transformation strategy, which aims to strengthen digital engagement and improve the guest experience across its more than 2,200 bakery-cafes.
To celebrate the launch, Panera is offering new and existing MyPanera members 500 bonus points with their first purchase in the updated program between August 19 and September 1. The reward is enough to redeem for a free Energy Refresher or Fresca. Members also get early access to the new Tropical Mango Pineapple Energy Refresher, available exclusively through the Panera app for a limited time.
Panera Chief Digital Officer Joshua Fine said the company redesigned MyPanera based on what guests said they wanted most.
“From everyday favorites to exclusive offers, we have reimagined MyPanera to deliver more value with every purchase,” Fine said. “The new MyPanera is built to give our guests more transparency, better rewards and more choice.”
Under the new system, members earn 10 points for every dollar spent and can redeem points for menu items of their choosing. Rewards start at 250 points for a free bagel or mini bakery treat and go up to 2,000 points for a full entrée. All previously earned rewards will carry over as members begin earning points with each order.
The program now includes three tiers:
- MyPanera — free to join and earn points through the Panera app.
- MyPanera+ — unlocked after spending $300 in a calendar year, offering enhanced perks such as a free birthday You Pick Two and bonus points on delivery orders.
- MyPanera+ Sip Club — includes all MyPanera+ benefits plus up to 30 select beverages per month, exclusive Sip Club Saturday offers and additional perks.
Panera says the goal is to make rewards easier to understand and more personalized, while giving members more control over how they use their points.
MyPanera is available to join at PaneraBread.com/MyPanera.
