NYC Democratic Party Primary Results: Mamdani Tsunami Or Start Of Political Purge By Democratic Voters?
Black Star News Editorial Photos: Facebook|YouTube Screenshots|Wikimedia Commons The Democratic Party leadership, billionaires, conservative pundits, and others in America’s status quo establishment, are losing their minds because of the recent Democratic Party Primary results in New York City. All the candidates endorsed by New York’s first Muslim Mayor Zohran Mamdani were victorious and there is talk that the outcome was a “Mamdani Tsunami.” But in all of the commentary, and fear-mongering noise, about the threat Mamdani supposedly poses there is very little conversation, in corporate media, about the essential lesson from the primary results: New York City voters voted for drastic change by electing members of the Democratic Socialists of America Party. The important question that is not being asked is are we witnessing the start of a political purge inside the Democratic party by Democratic voters? Right-wing radio, and television talking heads, are raging against socialist Mayor Mamdani–because the eight candidates, including three Congressional ones, that Mamdani endorsed, all defeated their opponents. This includes Brad Lander’s blowout win against two-term Congressman Dan Goldman and the stunning toppling of five-term Congressman Adriano Espaillat by Darializa Avila Chevalier (shown here). Mayor Mamdani does seem to have the Midas touch. However, the corporate media’s fixation on Mamdani is ignoring the explosive elephant in the room: the voters of New York City. Those complaining and crying right now about the dangers of socialism, and Marxism, don’t want to address the anger voters in New York City exhibited, with their vote, which comes after they resoundingly voted Mamdani in as the Mayor of New York City last year. Why? Mamdani is the mayor of New York City now because of his pledge to tackle “affordability.” New York City, and the rest of the country, already had an “affordability” problem that Donald Trump made worse with his terrible tariffs–before also launching a war of aggression against Iran that has turned into a disastrously deadly debacle which is dragging down the entire global economy. But billionaires, and their paid stooges in politics, Republicans and certain Democrats too, and their mouthpieces in unprincipled legacy media have zero concern for the little working-class people who they clearly disdain. Ever wonder why we hardly see any serious stories on those news outlets addressing the economic plight of struggling Americans? Imagine, these cluelessly callous people are often telling us about how great the stock market is as if the stock market is some indicator of the economic stability of everyday Americans. How many regular Americans even understand the stock market news that corporate media likes to show us? What is wrong with these people? Are they really that obtuse? Or, is it that they just don’t give a damn about Americans who are suffering while billions are used to build ballrooms and send bombs to kill babies in non-white countries? Working Americans are being economically crushed by the high cost of rent, gas, groceries, and everything else. This is what is scaring people now, not some bogeyman bull about socialism. You know these establishment folks are out-of-touch when they think the word socialism will still cause regular Americans to panic as it did a half century ago. The present economic reality is so awful for most Americans they are ready to try anything. But these political elites, and their bloviating pundits, have zero understanding of this since their financial lives are secure and stable. This year’s New York City Primary Election results should be a wake-up call particularly for the Democratic Party leadership who are stuffing their pockets with money from corrupt corporate entities and from groups like AIPAC, while Palestinians face an ongoing genocide in Gaza. Denouncing genocide was clearly a major factor on the minds of New York City voters. The Democratic Party leadership musk ask themselves if they are going to continue to make excuses for the genocidal Netanyahu regime in Israel? Besides the primary results in New York City, we know now a primary reason why Kamala Harris lost to Trump is because her campaign failed to address the mass murders taking place in Palestine, with the military weapons given to Netanyahu, with the blessings of Democrats. Is it too much to ask Democratic politicians not to bankroll the bombing and murdering of innocent civilians–with money that could be spent to tackle “affordability” in America? Democratic Party leaders are panicking now. When we hear the raving rantings of James Carville, or the weird whining of Jaime Harris, that tells us they are petrified of the anger of voters, while attacking those the voters voted for. And they should be. Because more examples of voter disgust will lead to the toppling of other do-little Democrats, unless

Right-wing radio, and television talking heads, are raging against socialist Mayor Mamdani–because the eight candidates, including three Congressional ones, that Mamdani endorsed, all defeated their opponents. Democratic Party leaders are panicking now.
When we hear the raving rantings of James Carville, or the weird whining of Jaime Harris, that tells us they are petrified of the anger of voters, while attacking those the voters voted for. And they should be. Because more examples of voter disgust will lead to the toppling of other do-little Democrats, unless there is a serious course correction within the leadership of the Democratic Party.
If Hakeem Jeffries, and Chuck Schumer, keep ignoring Democratic voters they should expect more of their vapid corporate-controlled politicians to be bounced from office by the voters, as just happened in New York City.
Democratic voters are demanding fundamental change inside the Democratic Party.
Will the leadership in the Democratic Party finally start to listen, or will the political purge continue by Democratic voters?
