Pool A will be the center of attention at the Kyabazinga 7s as former circuit winners Heathens, Hippos and Walukuba battle it out.
The 3 National 7s champions are joined by Rhinos, who have been a formidable 7s force in the past, but haven’t found their form in the 2026 series.
During Hippos’ title-winning season in 2022, the Kyabazinga 7s were the only circuit they won, as consistency paid off for them. In 2024 and 2025, the Heathens and Walukuba won the prestigious stop on their way to glory.
Bugembe Stadium is where champions are made, as every winner of the Kyabazinga 7s has emerged as National 7s champions. Case in point, the Black Pirates defeated the Buffaloes 29-7 to win the circuit as icing on the cake for the 2023 title. Earlier that day, the Pirates had already secured the title by beating the Heathens 21-5 in the quarterfinal.
In Pool B, the Buffaloes, who have made it to 2 finals out of 4 stops, shall be aiming for the crown, but they have to first contend with the Pirates, Eagles and Victoria Sharks.
The Eagles and Sharks are relatively new to the series, but they can not be written off as they have the necessary arsenal to hurt the Pirates and Buffaloes.
While the Buffaloes team shall remain largely unchanged, the other 3 sides shall welcome back players from the Uganda University 7s team.
The Mongers and KOBs still have some unfinished business to settle in Pool C as the two teams have given the fans some memorable games in the 2026 National 7s series.
On the other hand, the Rams are out to get everyone in the Pool as they are the only team to secure a circuit win this year.
Newly promoted Mbale Elephants haven’t left the bottom of the table since the opening weekend at the Stone City, and are expected to be the punching bag of the Pool as their improvement has been visible but slow.
The Kyabazinga 7s will be the 5th stop of the series and shall be hosted by the Walukuba Barbarians with the blessing of the Busoga Kingdom.
