By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A 59 year old Guatemalan labourer of Red Bank Village died Saturday following a collision at the junction of Red Bank Village and the T.V. Ramos Highway.
Police visited the scene around 10:45am and found a grey Toyota Tundra pickup parked at the junction, driven by 30 year old Deidra Jackson of Polak Road, Silk Grass Village.
A black Meilun motorcycle without licence plates lay at the edge of the junction, with the injured man beside it.
Nerry Campbell had sustained injuries to his right leg and right arm, complained of pain all over his body and was spitting blood.
Initial investigation revealed he was travelling along the T.V. Ramos Highway in a north to south direction when he made a right turn into Red Bank Road, colliding with the right front portion of the pickup.
He was rushed to the Southern Regional Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing surgery. He was pronounced dead at 1:01pm.
The scene was visited and processed and a sketch plan drawn. A urine specimen was obtained.
The pickup driver is detained pending investigation.
